When Projects Fail - My Daily Painting Journey
Nov 07, 2024
Here's my studio resource booklet download link HERE!
Today, I'm sharing with you something a little uncomfortable but something that I think is important to talk about. Failure!
At the start of 2024, I decided to paint one 30-minute painting every evening as a way to reflect on each day. To encourage the growth of positive memories and to strengthen my skills as a painter. You can learn more about why I started this and what I did in my other video HERE.
We got pretty far into the year, over 200 paintings, but it was not meant to be. In this video, I'll share with you what happened, why I'm calling this a failure, and why that's okay!
As I mentioned, these will still be part of my collaborative exhibition with Kristen McFarlane, to be held in January 2024. But who knows what it will look like then? You'll have to come visit the Yarra Valley next year to find out... Or subscribe to watch my progress and follow me on Instagram @heathermarybradbury to keep up to date with my paintings.
If you want to start your own journey with oil painting, check out my introductory waterdrop course HERE. It's the same class that has set up hundreds of my students with the skills they needed to start their own painting journeys.
Would you try this year-long project? Let me know in the comments below, I always love to read your stories and hear what you think!
The book mentioned was Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod
